Spiritual Life
One of the greatest blessings of an education at Wichita Christian School is daily freedom to openly pray and give God the glory for every blessing – great or small – whether in the classroom, in friendships, on sports fields, or at home. At WCS, our direction, purpose and vi
sion are all shaped by Christ’s example. The following list gives just a few examples of how WCS students participate in spiritually focused activities.
-
Chapel: Students Preschool through 12th grade attend chapel weekly. Students sing praises to God, read scripture, and share life application lessons. Parents of WCS students are encouraged to attend chapel with their child and students regularly express that Chapel is a favorite part of their day.
- Haiti Orphans Sponsorship Project; Through the Starfish Foundation, WCS students consider it a honor to be the hands and feet of Jesus to two very special Haitian Orphans.
-
Mission Trips: The WCS Senior class goes on an annual mission trip. The past three years our seniors have helped with rebuilding efforts in the Gulf region after hurricane Katrina.
-
Operation Santa Claus: WCS students donated $1166 in quarters this December to purchase toys for children in need in our community!
-
Blessing Bags for the Allred Unit: Each year WCS students decorate over 3,500 bags for Christ’s Prison Ministry. The 4th-6th graders then stuff the bags with fruit, shampoo, soap and other goods to be distributed at Christmas.
-
Magi Project: WCS students are making a difference one full shoe box at a time!
-
St. Jude’s Trike-a-Thon: WCS Preschool students ride their trikes each spring to raise funds for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. They annually contribute over $1,000!
