NURTURING PRESCHOOL GREAT START

"My wife, Claire, and I enrolled our son at Wichita Christian Preschool because of the small class size, Christian values, and the academic and physical curriculum. My son likes the arts and crafts part of the class. I think his favorite part of the day is when he goes to the playground or to the gym. We learned about Wichita Christian from my cousin. She and her husband send their two sons to Wichita Christian; they are now in high school. The Preschool staff is very courteous and professional. When I take my son to school, all the staff and teachers say ‘hello’ to my son (they all know his name). I feel the staff has a genuine interest in my son's wellbeing. As a father, I can tell you that one of the many joys of being part of the Wichita Christian School family is watching my son and the other kids when they go to Chapel. We are Catholic. I say that only to let families know that there are other options when choosing a private school. Should we ever make the decision to move my son to a Catholic, or public, school, I am confident that the time he spent and what he learned at Wichita Christian will be a valuable resource in his life." -- Brian Kowalick, Preschool Parent

KINDERGARTEN ROUNDUP – APRIL 24

Hear an informative session on Kindergarten at Wichita Christian School, K-12 Campus - 1615 Midwestern Parkway, 6:30 p.m -- April 24. "Our Kindergarten Program averages less than 15 students per classroom. We focus on individual attention and most of our students come to Kindergarten unable to read, but by the time they leave they are reading. It's an amazing time for kids and their families. We welcome anyone to come learn more about our teachers and program and see our learning environment at our Kindergarten Roundup," said Karen Pipes, Director of Curriculum and Instruction. An informative flyer about the Kindergarten Program at WCS is attached for more information. If you have any questions, please contact Theresa Arrington, Admissions Director, (940) 763-1347 or tarrington@wichitachristian.com to discuss tuition and our Kindergarten Program with outstanding teachers, Mrs. Vicki Baker and Ms. Victoria Cook.

PRESCHOOL – EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT

Preschool teachers at WCS are focused every day on providing your children with language experiences that form the foundation for rich reading and learning experiences. From the moment your child enters the classroom, everything connects to language and reading, and what may look like play is very serious work for your preschool child! Those early morning puzzles are developing depth perception, concepts of parts and wholes, and persistence! Morning calendar time? It's deepening your preschooler's understanding of time, order, change, and cooperation. In daily language arts and math time your child learns about how letter and number symbols are used to communicate spoken and written language. From letter learning, to counting acorns on the playground, to taking a nap beside a friend, your preschooler is getting an outstanding start at Wichita Christian Preschool!
