WCS Extra-Curricular and Support Programs

With many special programs to choose from, Wichita Christian School provides a variety of extra-curricular and support programs to enhance the educational experience, utilize the gifts that God has given us, and prepare your child for college and their professional future.

WCS currently offers the following programs:

  • STEM Club - a fun approach to learning and development that integrates the areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through varies activities such as robotics, rollercoaster engineering, coding, and much more.
  • BUDS (Building Unity in Discipleship Service) is a mentoring program that equips secondary students to exercise Christian leadership while benefiting our preschool and elementary students with a sense of belonging and Christian role models they can look up to.
  • Theater - offers students the opportunity to learn the different elements of musical theater such as set production, costuming, acting, singing, as well as tech (lighting, sound, special effects). Students compete in TAPPS competitions that include acting and vocal performance. In addition to putting on a full Broadway musical or theater production, we also host a mystery dinner theater fundraiser each year.
  • Student Council - a group of elected students working together with an adult advisor within the framework of a constitution or bylaws to provide a means for student expression and assistance in school affairs and activities.
  • National Honor Society
  • National Junior Honor Society
  • Band & Steel Drum Band - The fine arts programs offered at WCS are second to none! The WCS Band has won State consecutively since 2019, and the program continues to grow and thrive. A brand new fine arts building was constructed in 2023 to house the 58-piece Junior High and High School Band, as well as elementary music classes.
  • Sports - football, volleyball, basketball, tennis, golf, track and field, cross country, cheer, and baseball.
  • Choir
  • Chess Club
  • Yearbook
  • Community Service - various service projects are offered throughout the year (food drives, clothing drives, M.A.G.I. project boxes, Hospice Tree of Lights volunteer work, caroling at local nursing homes, Toys for Tots, blood drives, Operation Green Light, and many more). Through community service projects and sacrificial giving, WCS students are able to spread the love of the Savior!

Our mission is to provide a quality education in a Christian environment that inspires hearts, minds, and souls for successful living.
