WCS serves preschool children from age 18 months through Transitional Kindergarten. Our mission is to teach to the whole child in a safe and loving Christian environment. WCS teachers partner with parents in developing their children’s hearts, minds, and souls for successful living.
WCS preschool children attain all the skills necessary for success in future school experiences. It is important that our children feel happy, comfortable, and secure as they learn, as well as have an adequate amount of play time in their young childhood years.
Full Day Preschool for ages 18 months to 5 years old, Monday-Friday.
Three Day Preschool (M/W/F) for ages 18 months to 5 years old.
Transitional Kindergarten: The Transitional Kindergarten program bridges the path between preschool and kindergarten to give your child an opportunity to learn and grow in an environment tailored to meet their academic and social needs. TK provides the 'gift of time' that will help your child take on more responsibility, learn to enjoy school through imagination, curiosity, and discovery, and build a strong foundation for success in elementary school.
The focus of the WCS TK program is hands-on, center-based learning with a focus on emerging literacy and math. It is more rigorous than our 4's program, but not quite as advanced as Kindergarten. TK blends social and emotional experiences with academic learning, so that students not only learn essential pre-literacy, pre-math, and other cognitive skills, but also develop social and self-regulation skills needed to succeed in school and life. TK is available to children who are 5 years old on or before November 1st.
Our preschool program has many unique features such as access to a gymnasium for playtime in any weather, chapel time, a centers classroom for creative play, various field trips, art, music taught by the WCS Assistant Director of Fine Arts, and so much more!
